The Dragon

Check out the dragon!

This huge, woven dragon sits across the major intersection in front of our apartment building. We think it's pretty cool looking, though we're not quite sure why it's there. The neighborhood in which we live is Yongsan-gu. Yong means dragon and san means mountain. Maybe it has something to do with that. It could also be for Chusok, Korean Thanksgiving/Harvest, which is the first week in October. Regardless of what its actual purpose is, someone put a lot of hard work into it!

On a different note, things have been cooling down (still in the high 70's, low 80's) here lately. We've even had some bright, blue sky days (as you can see from the pictures above), which is a special treat. We've heard/read that Sept.-Nov. is the best time to visit Korea because the weather is so nice. My parents will be arriving on Wednesday for a two week visit (wahoo!!). You'll have to ask them if they agree!
