Dana and I would like to announce the birth of our SON – Owen Edward Jones! Owen was born at 0928 yesterday 3 June. He was a hefty baby at 9 lbs, 7 oz and 22 inches. Mom and baby are happy and healthy. The doctors decided to induce Dana on Monday, so we came to the hospital at 0800 to begin the process. Dana started contractions shortly after that and was in full labor by early afternoon. After almost 24 hours in labor, the doctors decided that Dana was not far enough along and that the baby was not in the proper position to allow her to deliver normally. It didn’t take the doctors long to get Dana into the O.R. for the c-section. I was able to share in the experience and hold the baby right after he was born – what an amazing experience! We will have to stay in the hospital for 72 hours as Dana recovers, but she and baby are both doing great now.
